419 Tifway, is grayish in color and medium fine in texture. 419 Tifway makes a very dense sod, is more weed resistant, weed and disease resistance, spreads faster than 328 Tifgreen and is superior to 328 Tifway. The grain of the grass lends itself well for use on putting greens. 419 Tifway will also give the homeowner a fine textured lawn.

The degree of growth that can be achieved through good management practices is one of the best qualities of this grass. 419 tifway provides an excellent impact absorbing cushion on playing fields.

Sodding may be performed year-round in U.S.D.A. Plant Hardiness Zone 7 or any warmer zone. Sprigs should not be planted before soil temperature is above 65°F. Planting too early may retard development of a turf and extend the critical establishment period several weeks.
